This is the official website of the artist Milo Maurer (“Milo”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what information milomaurer.com collects, why, who it is shared with, and the choices and rights you have.

The Short Version

• The only personal information we ask for is your email address (and, if you choose, your first name) when you sign up for the newsletter.
• This site sets no cookies and runs no advertising or cross-site tracking.
• We never sell your information.
• You can unsubscribe, or ask us to delete your information, at any time.

Who Is Responsible

Information We Collect

Information you give us.

• Newsletter signup: your email address, and your first name if you choose to add it.
• Emails you send us: if you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message.

Information collected automatically.

• Hosting: like any website, the servers that deliver this site receive technical information from your browser, such as your IP address, browser type, and the page requested, in order to send you the page and protect the site from abuse.
• Anonymous statistics: we use privacy-focused analytics that count visits in aggregate (see Analytics below). These cannot identify you.

Information from other sources. We do not buy or receive information about you from data brokers, advertisers, or other third parties.

How We Use It

• To send you the newsletter you signed up for: news about Milo's music, releases, and shows.
• To reply to messages you send us.
• To understand, in aggregate, which pages are visited and how quickly they load, so we can improve the site.
• To keep the site running securely.

We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.

Legal Basis (EU, EEA & UK Visitors)

• Consent for the newsletter, given when you sign up and confirm your email. You can withdraw it at any time by unsubscribing.
• Legitimate interests for replying to messages you send, producing anonymous site statistics, and keeping the site secure.

Who We Share It With

We never sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing. We use a small number of service providers who process information on our behalf:

• Kit, Inc. (formerly ConvertKit) stores the newsletter list and sends the newsletter. Kit processes subscriber information as our processor under its Data Processing Addendum. When you sign up, Kit sends an email asking you to confirm your address. Like most email services, Kit may record whether a newsletter was opened and which links were clicked. • Vercel, Inc. hosts this site and provides its anonymous analytics. See Vercel's privacy policy.
• Google Fonts: a few experimental pages listed under Experiments load their typefaces from Google's servers, which means your browser sends your IP address to Google when you open them. The rest of the site serves its fonts directly, with no request to Google.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of Milo, this site, or others.

Cookies & Similar Technologies

This site sets no cookies.

It does save small notes in your own browser's storage (“local storage”) so it remembers your choices. These stay on your device, are never sent to us, and contain no personal information:

• mm_newsletter_modal_seen: remembers that you closed or completed the newsletter pop-up, so it doesn't show again.
• mm_looper_unlocked: on the experimental sound library, remembers that you already signed up, so you aren't asked again.

You can clear these at any time by clearing your browser's site data. If we ever add cookies, they will be listed here before they are used.

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights. Neither uses cookies. Web Analytics counts page views, referring sites, country, device type, and browser. Visitors are counted using a hash of the incoming request that is discarded after 24 hours and is never linked across websites. Speed Insights measures how quickly pages load. Neither one can identify you personally.

Advertising & Social Media

This site does not show ads, and it does not use advertising pixels, retargeting, or any tracking from social networks or ad platforms.

Links to Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and other platforms are ordinary links. Nothing from those services loads on this site until you click through. Once you are on their sites, their own privacy policies apply.

If we ever introduce advertising or marketing measurement, this section will be updated before it starts, and you will be given any choices the law requires.

Purchases & Merch

There is no store on this site at the moment, and we do not collect payment or shipping information. If merch or tickets go on sale here, this section will be updated first to explain who handles payments and what information is collected.

How Long We Keep It

• Newsletter: your email address (and first name, if given) is kept until you unsubscribe, after which it is no longer used to contact you.
• Emails you send us: kept for as long as the conversation is useful, then deleted.
• Analytics: stored only in anonymous, aggregated form.

Security

Your information is held by established providers (Kit and Vercel), and the site is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. No online service can be completely secure, but we limit what we collect so there is little to expose.

International Transfers

Milo, Kit, and Vercel are based in the United States, so your information is processed in the United States and possibly in other countries where those providers operate. Where EU, EEA, or UK law applies, these transfers rely on the safeguards in our providers' data processing terms.

Your Rights & Choices

Everyone can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link at the bottom of every email, and can ask us what information we hold about them or ask us to delete it.

EU, EEA & UK: you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data; to restrict or object to its processing; to data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

California and other US states with privacy laws: you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion or correction, and not to be discriminated against for using these rights. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information.

To make any request, email milo@milomaurer.com. We may need to confirm your identity first, for example by replying to the email address you are subscribed with.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has signed up, contact us and we will delete their information.

Changes to This Policy

When this policy changes, the date below will change too. Significant changes will be made clear on this page before they take effect.
